Under the auspices of Mr.President Mohamed H.Mobarak & the attendance of Dr.Ahmed nazif , the prime minister , some governors & ministers of the Egyptian cabinet & general Adel Labib , the governor of Alexandria .
The ministry of the administrative development held a ceremony by the opera house honoring the winners of " the distinguished competition 2007" an annual competition. This year the slogan of the competition was
" because you are the best , you deserve to be honored"  The central department for tourism & summer resort in Alex, under the leadership of R.admiral ,Ihab Farouk , under secretary of state for tourism won the first prize as the most distinguished official electronic gateway presenting effective serves to all people searching the net at www.discoveralex.gov.eg R.admiral .Ihab Farouk was honored at ceremony, worth mentioning that eligibility to participate in the competition was as follow
The electronic gateway should belong to a governmental office or authority.
The main language of the site should be Arabic.
A large number of experienced arbitrators had contributed in choosing the winners in addition to a technical team work evaluating the website using specialized tools & state of the art techniques. Serving citizens of the country in all sectors is the goal of this site ,and it should be accurate ,quick & adequate .The site of the central department had passed all qualifications

Raising the level of the tourism awareness for all those who deal with tourists
Increasing the tourism investment opportunities through many projects.
